Planning Engineering

Planning engineers, also known as project planners, are responsible for planning and coordinating materials, facilities, equipment and labor for large construction projects. They produce proposals, collect information from estimators, buyers and surveyors to plan a contract program, and schedule the project in the most logical and economical way.

If the proposal is successful, the planning engineers will contact the construction managers and subcontractors to verify the progress of the project and make the necessary adjustments in the schedule to meet the deadlines. They are responsible for ensuring that all resources are used in the most economical and efficient way. They are also known as construction project managers.
